Federal Action
CSH and its partners across the country are committed to ensuring that families involved in the child-welfare system have the housing assistance, community resources and supports needed for parents and children to grow together in safe, stable homes – reducing their involvement in the child welfare system. We also are building strong and compelling evidence of supportive housing’s potential as a cost-effective tool for improving family and child outcomes while addressing avoidable family separations and child removals.
By endorsing One Roof, you are working with us towards the following federal policy goals:
- 50,000 Housing Vouchers for Child Welfare-Involved Families
- Expansion of Supportive Services for Child Welfare-Involved Families
a. Passage of the Family First Prevention Services Act (child welfare reform) to expand use of federal dollars for family preservation
b. Creation of a Keeping Families Together Services Fund at the US Administration for Children Youth and Families
3. Strong Administration Action & Program Guidance from the US Departments of Housing and Urban Development and Health and Human Services that Works to Keep Vulnerable Families Together
